So funny!

My mom was making a silly face and Leo thought she was the funniest thing in the world! He was laughing so hard. I love to hear his sweet laugh. I got these pictures of him while he was having the laughing attack!

Up, up, up and away!

We have been bringing Leo to the park and he LOVES the swings! He smiles and laughs the whole time he is swinging. It is so cute!

After teaching for 5 years and babysitting for 15 years, I have pushed MANY kids on the swings. It is an amazing feeling to finally push my own son on the swings. One of the many small pleasures of being a mom!

Scooting!

Leo has started scooting...backwards. Today he started on the middle of the blanket and ended up across the room. I think this might be the first step in learning to crawl!

Leo started swimming lessons two weeks ago and he loves them!!! Kevin usually gets in the water with him and I sit on the sidelines and take video and pictures, yes I am "that" mom. It is so fun to sit back and watch him play in the water!

The picture of Leo in his KU shirt was taken BEFORE the game, that is why he had such a big smile...There were tears after the game.

Our neighbors let us borrow their jumperoo and Leo loved it so much we bought him his own...He jumps like crazy!!!

We are working on feeding him more finger foods and he is getting good at picking the food up off his tray. In the pictures Leo is eating tofu and avocado. He LOVES food and will eat anything we put on his tray. I am always looking for new soft foods to feed him, let me know if you have any ideas. He now has TWO teeth!!!

WILD!!!

Kevin and I took Leo to his first WILD game! We had tickets to a 2:00 game on Sunday afternoon so we thought it would be the perfect time to introduce him to his hometown hockey team! He LOVED it. He was so interested in the lights, music, people and action. When we first got there, he sat perfectly still on my lap for 10 minutes (which never happens) and just looked around. The only time he cried was when they scored a goal and everyone jumped up and cheered. I think the loud noise scared him. Other than that, he had a great time. We left during the second period and made it home in time for a nap (of course he didn't fall asleep on the 45 minute car ride home...) It was a fun day!

Crawling, Teething and Waiting...

Kevin has been "teaching" Leo how to crawl. He crawls circles around him and puts him into crawling position in hopes that Leo will take off on his own. Leo is getting close and I have a feeling that it won't be long until we have to baby proof EVERYTHING!!! For now, I enjoy being able to put him down without having to worry where he will end up!

You may notice that Leo is holding on tight to the his orange ring in most of the pictures. He LOVES his orange ring. He digs for it in his toy bucket and cries when we take it away. It might be hard to learn to crawl while holding orange ring but I don't think he is going to let it go!

Leo finally got his first tooth! It came in on the bottom and I think the others are on their way. Poor guy is teething while he has RSV! Luckily his cough is going away and he is feeling better.

We are anxiously waiting the arrival of our little niece. Jenny is due two weeks from Monday and we can't wait to welcome her to the world!!!

Spring...

Leo and I have decided that it is time for spring! Today he wore his new spring clothes and he looked so handsome (even if I did have to put a long-sleeved onesie under the polo because its only 45 degrees). We went to my parents house for lunch after baby class, a Tuesday ritual, and he spent time reading his favorite book* with Gramps. Somehow Gramps is always able to break away from work when his little buddy is around!

*His favorite book is titled Merry Christmas. I know we are way out of the Christmas season but he loves the bright colors and he smiles and laughs when he sees it.

Leo is starting to feel better. We are still doing the breathing treatments 4 times a day and he still has a cough and runny nose but he is in good spirits.

Update...

Kevin got home early from work today which was a life savor! He was able to hold Leo during the breathing treatments so I could distract him with toys, books, songs and TV. He is getting better at tolerating the treatments but it is still a challenge. The nebulizer we got from the doctors office is in the shape of a penguin. It looks cute but Leo has quickly learned that it is not a fun toy! Kevin is worried that he will be scared of penguins forever and will run away from them at the zoo. That is the least of my worries right now!!! Although he is a sick little boy, he is still in good spirits and has enjoyed eating "prune pops" in his high chair (prune juice frozen into an ice cube tray and then put in a baby safe feeder). His bottom left tooth is starting to come in so the ice cubes must feel good on his gums. Kevin snapped the multi-tasking picture of me and Leo this afternoon- talking on the phone, folding laundry, entertaining Leo, life is busy as a mom!!!

Not fun...

Leo has RSV (which is like bronchitis for babies). The poor little guy has a deep barking cough, a fever and is super congested. I took him to the doctor yesterday and they did a nose swab to confirm that he has the virus. They sent us home with our very own nebulizer machine and we have to do breathing treatments every four hours to help clear out his lungs. He HATES the treatments and screams for the entire 5 minutes. It is not easy to hold the mask over his face while holding his arms and legs down. I have recorded several episodes of Dora, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Yo Gabba Gabba in hopes to distract him during the treatment. Unfortunately the doctor said that we are at the beginning of the virus and it will get worse before it gets better. She said to plan on about two to three weeks before he is totally recovered. Yikes!!!

Sunday morning with Dad...

Kevin and I went to an engagement party on Saturday night at Chino Latino in Uptown. My mom came over to watch Leo and we stayed out WAY TOO LATE!!! We didn't get home until 1:30am. My poor mom!!! After Chino Latino, We met Charlie and Michael at their neighborhood bar, Cowboy Slims. We had so much fun and obviously lost track of time. Our early bird baby actually slept in a little and instead of getting up at 4:30am (his new wake-up time) he slept until 5:30am. I took the first baby shift and let Kevin sleep. Then, Kevin took care of him while I slept. When I finally woke up and came downstairs I found Leo sitting in his over-sized Valentines Day T-shirt (a gift from his friend Claire) and his diaper. I am pretty sure every toy we own was sitting with-in arms reach and he could not have been happier! Sunday mornings with Daddy are the best!
