We love Sunday mornings!

Last night, Kevin and I went to the MN State Fair! Leo stayed with Grammy and Gramps. We had a great time. We ate more than necessary- a footlong hot dog, cheese curds, mini doughnuts, sweet martha cookies, corn on the cob, rootbeer and a pronto pup! The perfect meal to help loose that baby weight! The people watching was great and it was nice to get out and about. Leo had so much fun without us, he played, sang and rocked with Grammy and Gramps.

We have been so busy lately, it was nice to wake up this morning and have no plans and no schedule. We slept in (taking turns) and ate a big breakfast. We had a great time playing with Leo- he was all smiles!

Just like Daddy!

First Big Trip!

Leo, myself and my parents went to Sioux Falls last weekend to visit my Grandma and family. It was his first big car trip and he did great!!! He slept the entire way there (4 hours) and the entire way home. The only time he woke up was to eat and then he went right back to sleep. Apparently he loves the motion of the car. Maybe I should start napping him in his car seat...

We had a great time while we were there. It was so fun to introduce him to my Grandma Nelson, Aunt Jody, Uncle Pat and cousins Allie, Payton and Olivia. It was nice to have a change of scenery (my first time out of the cities since May) and to visit with my family. My Grandma is an AMAZING cook and she prepared so many great meals. Overall it was a wonderful time had by all!

There is nothing better...

There's nothing better than snuggling and wearing a cozy hooded sweatshirt on a cool summer night...

6 weeks old!

Leo is now 6 weeks old. Time is flying by!!! We were out shopping the other day and someone asked how old he was, I replied one month. As we walked away, Kevin very nicely reminded me that he was 6 weeks. I can't believe how fast time is going! We are trying to get Leo into somewhat of a eat, play, sleep schedule. He does great with the eat and play but is having a hard time with the sleep. He does not like to nap during the day. At night he is sleeping 6 hours at a time (thank goodness) but during the day he is wide awake! I thought babies were supposed to sleep all the time...He likes to play, look around and interact. However, when he does get sleepy, he will let you know it! Overall he is a happy and healthy baby.

Kevin is going out of town to a bachelor party in New Orleans this weekend for our friend Adam. His fiance, my friend Mary, is having a bachelorette party this weekend as well in Chicago. Although I really wanted to go, I don't think it is going to happen... Instead, I am going with my parents to visit my Grandma and family in Sioux Falls. It will be Leo's first trip there!

The PGA golf tournament took place in Chaska this week about 5 minutes from our house. It was the busiest I have ever seen Chaska! My dad had tickets to the tournament and went just about everyday. Kevin was able to go two of the days. They were able to get pretty close to Tiger Woods and watched him at the driving range, the putting green and on the course. Kevin said it was amazing to watch such a legend!

We celebrated Charlie's 25th birthday this week. His actual birthday was on Friday but we had dinner and opened presents on Thursday night at my parents house. It was fun to celebrate with him!

A week in review...

Last weekend, my three best friends from college came in town- Mary, Madeline and Gina. We had such a great time catching up and hanging out. On Saturday, we went to a wedding shower for Mary who is getting married in October and on Saturday night the four of us went out for dinner. I had my first glass of wine in 10 months! It felt great to get out again and I know Kevin appreciated the time alone with Leo.

On Monday night we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Allen's house for dinner. Leo enjoyed meeting their dog Maggie and spending time with them and Jenny and Toby!

On Tuesday, we celebrated Leo's one month birthday. He is getting so big and changing so much! He loves to play with his toys and listen to books. He is even starting to smile!!! What a sweet baby.

On Wednesday, our friends the Talberts threw us a baby shower. They invited neighbors, family and friends. It was fun to see everyone and catch up. We played a fun game, ate yummy food and opened presents. Leo was the star of the show and everyone had a chance to hold him.

On Thursday, Kevin and I went on our first official date since Leo was born. We went out to dinner and to the Kooza show. The show was amazing! It was so fun to get out and I know Grammy, Gramps and Molly enjoyed babysitting!

On Friday, Leo met Great Grandma Davis. She really enjoyed holding him and spending time with him.

We are planning on heading to the cabin this weekend if the weather cooperates. Wish us luck on our first road trip!!!

It has been another busy but enjoyable week! I can't believe how fast the time is going.
