Island Lake

Kevin, Leo and I met my parents up at the Cabin for a wonderful weekend at the Lake. Leo LOVED every minute of being outside. He explored the grounds, went up and down the steps, splashed in the water, played in the sand, fished off the dock, drove the boat, ran in the sprinkler, played ball and had a lot of treats! He had so much fun and we really enjoyed being up North again. Kevin and I used to go to the Cabin a lot during the summer but since we had Leo making the trip is a little more difficult, but well worth it! The cabin is such a peaceful, beautiful place and a wonderful place for Leo to enjoy. He had so much fun playing there and spending time with Ammie and Papa. When we got in the car to go home he was sad and kept saying "more lake home." I reassured him that we will be back!

Triathlon!

Kevin completed the Lifetime Triathlon last weekend! He has been training for the past few months to compete in the race. He swam 1/2 mile, biked 15 miles and ran 3 miles. We were so proud of him!!! Leo and I went to cheer him on and were able to see him in a few different points of the race. I tried to get good pictures but I was holding Leo, cheering and taking pictures at the same time. Kevin worked so hard to train, most days getting up at 4:30 am to workout before work. He did this so he wouldn't take away from our time as a family in the evenings. What a great dad and husband! It was a long few months for him but I am so proud of him for completing his goal and finishing with a great time! Way to go Kevin!!!

TWO!!!

Our big boy turned two on July 4th! I can't believe 2 years have passed since I went into labor watching fireworks in Bloomington. Our lives haven't been the same since! Leo is such a smart, sweet, curious, strong-willed, fun loving, amazing little boy. He learns new words everyday and repeats almost everything we say. He LOVES to be outside and to play with his cars, trains and trucks. He always wants to be on the go and is very busy! He is a good helper and aims to please. He likes to cuddle before and after nap and bedtime and is an early riser. He has a sweet tooth like his mama and his current favorite is M and M's. He is a lucky little boy who is loved and adored by so many family members. He is our pride and joy!

Leo had several birthday celebrations throughout the past few weeks. He had a "Barnyard" themed party with family and friends, a party in Tulsa with Kevin's side of the family, a full day of fun with Kevin and I on his actual birthday and a dinner celebration with my family. What a lucky boy!

On his actual birthday, the three of us spend the entire day celebrating and playing. Here are a few highlights:
-Green and blue pancakes for breakfast
-A new wagon to ride in
-A trip to the beach park where we played, swam and had a picnic lunch
-4th of July parade downtown Chanhassen
-Rides at the 4th of July Celebration
-Icecream and M and M's at Licks and an evening at the park
It was such a fun day to do all of Leo's favorite things together as a family! Happy 2nd Birthday Big Kid!
