It's been 10 years...
I had my 10 year high school reunion on Saturday night. After much discussion, my girlfriends and I decided to go (sans husbands/boyfriends). We weren't sure what to expect but we had a great time. I was surprised at how little people have changed. Almost everyone looked the same and acted the same as they did in high school. For a brief moment, I felt like I was in high school again. Although it was fun to catch up with people and spend time with my girlfriends, I think I can wait another 10 years for the next reunion!

There is so much to be thankful for, big things and small things, important things and silly things, life is good.
What really matters:

5. Wonderful, supportive friends who live near and far

7. The opportunity for me to be a stay-at-home mom and the privilege of spending everyday with Leo
8. The health of our Grandparents- Leo has met his 3 Great-Grandma's and his 1 Great-Grandpa
Things that make life a little more enjoyable:

Rice Cereal!
We decided to try rice cereal for the first time today! We don't have a high chair yet, so we put Leo in the Bumbo. I wasn't sure how he would react but he seemed to like it. I am not sure how much he actually got in his mouth, I think most of it ended up on either his face, my hands, the floor or the Bumbo. That stuff is sticky!!! When he was finished he went right up to the bath! I think it was a good first start. We will try it again tomorrow.

Lazy Weekend
We are so busy during the week, we treasure our family time on the weekends. Last weekend we only left the house to go to Babies R Us on Saturday. It felt so great to just hang out. Kevin has been super busy at work and getting home after Leo has been in bed so it was nice to spend time together over the weekend. He played his guitar for Leo for the first time and it was a hit! Leo loved it.
Leo is getting so much more interactive and smiling like crazy. It is so fun to play games with him and listen to him laugh- maybe the best sound I have ever heard! Life is good at the Allen house.

I love my Jumperoo!
Before Leo was born, we agreed that weren't going to let bright colored, plastic toys take over our house. We weren't going to litter our family room with kid junk. Well now that he's here, things have changed. This weekend we took our beautiful glass and rod-iron coffee table out of our family room to make room for the bright colored plastic toys that are spread throughout the house. We have a playmat, a bouncer, a rocker, a bumbo chair, a swing, a tummy time mat and our newest purchase is a giant jumperoo that Leo can't get enough of. Our nicely decorated family room has turned into kidville and Leo is only 4 months old. Although I miss the way our house used to look, I love the smiles and squeals that come from playing with the giant, bright colored plastic toys.

4 Month Check- Up, Halloween and the Vikings!
What a weekend! On Friday we had Leo's 4 month appointment. He is 16 pounds 11 ounces and in the 95th percentile for height and weight. What a big boy! He is healthy, happy and doing well. I was so glad Kevin was able to join us for the appointment so I didn't have to witness the shots alone...I hate to see Leo so sad!
Leo had a great time celebrating his first Halloween. We went to a neighborhood party on Saturday afternoon and then passed out candy on Saturday night. Leo looked adorable in his Lion costume.
On Sunday we went to our friends the Meyers to watch the Vikings game. Leo wore his football jammies to cheer on the Vikes! Claire even had her jersey on, so cute!
It was a busy weekend and now it's time to start a new week. I am not thrilled about day-light savings time. I hate the thought of it getting dark at 5pm. Is it really necessary? I am already ready for spring, yikes it could be a long winter!
