I can't believe our baby is turning one today! Everyone told me that it would go fast but I really can't believe the tiny helpless baby we brought home from the hospital one year ago is now an independent, curious, mobile little boy!
Oh Leo, we love you, let us count the ways:
On the day you were born we were so excited to meet you and it was love at first sight. You were our little "porkchop" weighing in at 9 lbs 21 inches. What an amazing day.
When you were one month old, we loved to snuggle with you and hold you while you slept. It was exhausting but we loved every minute.
When you were two months old, we loved to watch you splash in the bath and then cuddle with you when you were done.
When you were 3 months old, we were so proud of you when you rolled over! You loved playing with your lion mat. We can still hear the music playing today.
When you were 4 months old, you smiled at everything! You were such a happy baby.
When you were 5 months old, you saw snow for the first time! We had to bundle you up everywhere we went. We loved cuddling with you to keep you warm.
When you were six months old, you sat up for the first time! You loved playing with your toys and we loved keeping you entertained.
When you were seven months old, you loved to stick out your tongue and make funny faces. We loved to watch to see what you were going to do next!
When you were eight months old you got your first two teeth! It looked so different to see your precious little smile with your big boy "toofers".
When you were nine months old, you got really good at scooting backwards! You would end up under the table and under chairs. We loved watching you move around!
When you were ten months old, you started crawling forwards! It wasn't long before you were into EVERYTHING! We loved watching you discover the world around you.
When you were 11 months old, you started pulling yourself up to a standing position and walking behind toys. We know it won't be long before you start walking on your own!
Now you are 12 months old! You have grown so much throughout the past year. You have become a sweet little boy with a fun personality. You love to smile and laugh and be silly. You are very curious and like to investigate things. You are able to stand on your own and love to practice walking. You can climb the stairs! You gobble up all of your food and love to eat. You enjoy playing with other kids and love to play with toys. You like to go for walks and swing at the park. You are very good at tapping things together, clapping your hands, and waving goodbye. When you hear music you like to pat your legs to the beat. You are a mamma's boy and love to sit with mamma and read books and play. You like to laugh and be silly with Dada.
You light up our lives and make us so happy. We love you more than words can say.
